4th Annual Ms. Letna Healing Hope Fundraising Brunch

some text

Join us Sunday, April 3rd, 2016 for the 4th Annual Ms. Letna Healing Hope Brunch, where you will hear from Keynote Speaker Dr. Colette Rutherford, Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology, RVC. You will also be entertained with music, singing, a fashion show, dancing, and irresistible food for the palate at Sts. Peter and Paul Banquet Hall located at 231 Milner Ave, in Scarborough.

Last year the team donated $7,000 to the Cancer Care Program at the Rouge Valley Hospital. Over the last three years my team and I have raised a total of $17,900 for the program and I am positive that lives were saved because of the effort.

Since 2014, We have also had the pleasure of donating a total of $2,900 to the Jamaica Cancer Society’s Mammogram Department. The funds were used towards the Society’s free mammogram screening program which helps women in financial need.

Each year attendees hear from keynote speakers on targeted cancer care topics. Through this event we have helped to raise awareness on breast cancer, breast reconstructive surgery and prostate cancer. This year’s theme will be cervical cancer focusing on prevention and treatment.

Ms. Letna, a performer and singer herself, is very excited to bring together talented performers including Jay Harmony, MeLisa, Sai Niruthya Dance School, Sharon Barnett, Tiffany Gooch and Step It Up Dance Group for the audience’s pleasure.

As a Breast Cancer Survivor, diagnosed in 2011, Ms. Letna has benefited from the services of the Rouge Valley Centenary hospital, its team of surgeons, oncologists, nurses and volunteers. Since being diagnosed and treated she pledged to give back to the hospital and now the Jamaica Cancer Society.

Join us in our efforts to raise funds and awareness for these two worthy causes. We look forward to receiving your continued support for the 4th Annual event.

some text

Marley Edwards began singing at age six with the Malvern Methodist Children’s Choir. She loves performing from time to time with her three brothers in a rap group called M-Brace, as the lead vocalist. She has always enjoyed singing, and is thankful to God for giving her this gift, as well as the opportunity to travel to many cities across Ontario, the US, and the Caribbean. Marley was Pickering Stars Runner-up in 2010 and Champion 2011.

She has had the privilege of sharing the stage with fellow Pickering Stars and headliners such as Kardinal Official. Her soulful voice lends itself to R&B, Rap, Jazz, and of course Gospel. Marley is presently attending George Brown College and works for Scarborough Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, and is always honoured to serve her community.
